Ministers Joe Harmon and Keith Scott to address Economic Empowerment Summit in Buxton on Sunday Augu

The Buxton First of August Movement brings the curtain down on its Emancipation 2015 observances on Sunday August 9 with an “Economic Empowerment Summit.” The Summit is aimed at bringing policy makers and experts face to face with villagers to initiate a discussion about the economic revitalization of the village. The Movement wants to partner with government and the private sector to tackle the problem of unemployment in the village, restore the once high educational standards, fix the infrastructural pr0blems, address the housing needs and revive the agricultural industry in the village

The keynote address would be delivered by Minister of State Hon Joseph Harmon. Other speakers are Minister of Housing Keith Scott, Presidential Advisor on Youth Empowerment, Aubrey Norton, Agriculturalist, Simpson DaSilva and Buxtonion entrepreneur, Morris Wilson.

The Summit will be held at the Friendship Primary School beginning at 3pm.
