Dr. David Hinds, a native of Guyana, is a Professor, Political Commentator and Political Activist who shares his time and work between the USA and his native Guyana. He is currently an Associate Professor in the African and African American Studies Unit in the School of Social Transformation at Arizona State University. 

He is a political scientist who specializes in Caribbean and African Diaspora Politics and Society. His areas of teaching and research are: Race, Ethnicity and Politics in the Caribbean, with an emphasis on Guyana; Caribbean and African Diaspora Governance and Politics; and Caribbean and African Diaspora Popular Culture (Music and Sports) as Political Expression. Dr. Hinds is the author of three books and several scholarly articles on Caribbean Politics and Society. His books are Race and Political Discourse in Guyana (2004), Ethno-Politics and Power Sharing in Guyana: History and Discourse (2011) and Bob Marley: Lyrics of Resistance (2013).  

In addition to his scholarly work, Dr. Hinds is a Political Commentator who comments on Caribbean Politics in both the print and electronic media in North America and the Caribbean. He appears regularly on Caribbeana with Von Martin on WPFW Radio in Washington DC; Caribbean Forum (New York); The Big Issues on Antigua Observer Radio, Plain Talk (Guyana) and Jamaica’s Breakfast Club. He is a regular contributor to the Print Media including Caribbean News Now and Guyana’s Demerara Waves, Stabroek News and Kaieteur News. He is a host of CaribNation, the most widely viewed Caribbean TV program in the USA and does a monthly radio program, The Caribbean Political Hour with Dr. David Hinds on WEAA radio in Baltimore in the USA.
