Rise up this mornin', Smile with the risin' sun, Three little birds Pitch by my doorstep Singin' sweet songs Of melodies pure and true, Sayin', "This is my message to you-ou-ou:"

Singin': "Don't worry 'bout a thing, 'Cause every little thing gonna be all right." Singin': "Don't worry (don't worry) 'bout a thing, 'Cause every little thing gonna be all right! "

Yes, Brother Bob. It feels good to wake up in a Guyana that is freed from the heavy hand and vile mind of the PPP. Yesterday’s public celebrations by the people demonstrates the extent to which the PPP is disliked. They have done so much evil to Guyana that our people could not hold back their emotions. I felt a sense of security as I watched our people in the public space—young, old and in-between. I repeat—this victory is their victory. They endured a great deal. They suffered for 23 years—sometimes in silence. So the sound of voices echoing in the atmosphere is a release of pent-up agony and frustration.

We have rescued Guyana for the depth of despair and disintegration—just in time. Now we have found out that another world is possible, let us embrace it with the same purpose and commitment we demonstrated around the elections. Together we have to restore the dignity and wholeness of Guyana.

We have a government of our choice. Rightfully. Now, we must protect that government from unworthy temptations. There must never ever be another government like the one we just defeated.
