Today is a day for the history books. We now await the validation of the Coalition’s victory by GECOM. Many people pitched in to make this outcome possible. The leaders showed courage in putting a Unity Coalition before the electorate. Many big name people endorsed the Coalition. Some of the private media played their part. But in the end, victory was made possible by the thousands of ordinary people armed with their votes, their hope and their determination to put an end to Guyana’s most destructive government. I have always had faith in our people to rise and lift their country up. That’s why some of us stayed the course—among the people. So when that official announcement comes today, lift your voices to their loudest and shout it out--We did it; ahwee bring dem bad man an ooman down to low gravy.
